cduffy Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 I'm developing AutoIt scripts for a Windows system; however, my team's development platform is a UNIX-family environment. Thus, needing to spin up a Windows VM to compile our scripts before they can be run on a target without AutoIt installed locally is inconvenient.If the AutoIt interpreter is portable, this is a nonissue: We just trigger "AutoIt3.exe scriptname.au3", and distribute AutoIt3.exe and any needed dependencies with the media; and thus, developers can edit scriptname.au3 on their non-Windows platforms.But... is that actually the case?

ViciousXUSMC Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 And what I do is keep the .exe on a flash drive and double click a script, when I get "open with" dialog I browse to the AutoIt.exe and that works well for me.Of late I started to do this so I can tweak a script incase a compiled version has any flaws or the virus scanner detects them as a false postive.
