AndreyS Posted December 20, 2016 Posted December 20, 2016 Tell me why when I shut down Windows, OnAutoItExitRegister function is activated twice? This is an example of the reference #include <MsgBoxConstants.au3> OnAutoItExitRegister("MyTestFunc") OnAutoItExitRegister("MyTestFunc2") Sleep(1000) Func MyTestFunc() MsgBox($MB_SYSTEMMODAL, "Exit Results 1", 'Exit Message from MyTestFunc()') EndFunc ;==>MyTestFunc Func MyTestFunc2() MsgBox($MB_SYSTEMMODAL, "Exit Results 2", 'Exit Message from MyTestFunc()') EndFunc ;==>MyTestFunc2
careca Posted December 20, 2016 Posted December 20, 2016 Is activated as many times as many OnAutoItExitRegister("") you got. AndreyS Posted December 20, 2016 Author Posted December 20, 2016 You probably do not understand. msgbox function operates not twice, but four times!
careca Posted December 20, 2016 Posted December 20, 2016 I see, is that the whole code? Or is there more? AndreyS Posted December 20, 2016 Author Posted December 20, 2016 Yes, it's all the code! I copied from the reference example.
careca Posted December 20, 2016 Posted December 20, 2016 Ok so here's why i asked: there's no loop in your code, so when you say it happens uppon windows shutdown, it has to be running in loop. If you execute the code as is, it will start outputing the msgboxes right away, and exit. So im not able to reproduce that behaviour. Not even with a loop, and shuting down windows, in fact, i compiled it with a loop, and no msgbox was shown. AndreyS Posted December 20, 2016 Author Posted December 20, 2016 Then I will describe the process in more detail. 1. I finish work Windows. 2. Windows displays a message that can not close the session because of the message of the script. 3. I cancel shutdown Windows. 4. The script gives me four times MsgBox.
BrewManNH Posted December 20, 2016 Posted December 20, 2016 When I run that script I get 2 msgboxes. Maybe you shouldn't try shutting windows down when you have that script running to eliminate that issue. orbs Posted December 20, 2016 Posted December 20, 2016 (edited) there are quirks with AutoItOnExitRegister(). to eliminate this one, you may want to call AutoItOnExitUnRegister() at the end of each of the registered functions. AndreyS Posted December 20, 2016 Author Posted December 20, 2016 (edited) Ohhh no! I apologize. careca Posted December 21, 2016 Posted December 21, 2016 (edited) Just did, compiled and ran, started windows shutdown, there was a error window, and it was gone so fast i didn't even had time to read it. No other message box at all, and windows shut down. Windows 10 btw. I have done many tweaks in windows so, it might be due to that. Things like, force close all processes on shutdown might be one of them. AndreyS Posted December 21, 2016 Author Posted December 21, 2016 I'm also on Win 8.1 and 10 tested. Somehow, given 4 message.
AndreyS Posted December 24, 2016 Author Posted December 24, 2016 No one has explanations and guesses about it? Perhaps the event which causes function OnAutoItExitRegister occurs twice: during shutdown Windows and when you stop and return to the user's session?!
kylomas Posted December 24, 2016 Posted December 24, 2016 AndreyS, When this is running at shutdown... #include <MsgBoxConstants.au3> OnAutoItExitRegister("MyTestFunc") OnAutoItExitRegister("MyTestFunc2") Sleep(100000) Func MyTestFunc() MsgBox($MB_SYSTEMMODAL, "Exit Results 1", 'Exit Message from MyTestFunc()') EndFunc ;==>MyTestFunc Func MyTestFunc2() MsgBox($MB_SYSTEMMODAL, "Exit Results 2", 'Exit Message from MyTestFunc()') EndFunc ;==>MyTestFunc2 I get two messages (admin account/Win7 Pro). kylomas Forum Rules Procedure for posting code "I like pigs.
