antmar904 Posted July 24, 2018 Posted July 24, 2018 This is not appending to the "Description" attribute for a users account. #include <AD.au3> #include <MsgBoxConstants.au3> #RequireAdmin Local $AD = _AD_Open("", "", "", "server.com") If @error Then MsgBox(0, "ERROR: Connecting to AD", "ERROR: " & @error & " Extended: " & @extended) Exit EndIf Local $Add = _AD_ModifyAttribute("usera", "Description", "Auto disabled", 3) If @error Then MsgBox(0, "ERROR - Setting Attribute", @error & " " & @extended) Exit EndIf _AD_Close() If I remove the "3" append, it does update the attribute which I do not want to do.
water Posted July 24, 2018 Posted July 24, 2018 Unfortunately the function is a bit misleading. It was created by the original author of the UDF to update multivalue attributes. To work with a single value attribute like description you need to extract the current value of the attribute, add the text to the discription and then rewrite the attribute. water Posted July 25, 2018 Posted July 25, 2018 I'm thinking about rewriting the function - or at least update the documentation!
