Moist Posted November 23, 2018 Posted November 23, 2018 Hello again, Is it possible to use Autoit to read a .xls file without actually opening Excel? I only want to read its contents of a file saved on a server. I don't intend to write anything on it. I've see the UDF _Excel_RangeRead but I'm guessing that only works on opened documents. Thanks.
water Posted November 23, 2018 Posted November 23, 2018 There are UDFs available to create Excel files but I'm not aware of an UDF to read Excel files. If you have Excel installed, I suggest to use the Excel UDF and open the workbooks in read-only mode. FrancescoDiMuro Posted November 23, 2018 Posted November 23, 2018 @Moist If you are going to read a .csv file, then you could consider to use _FileReadToArray() with your separator char (; or , or @TAB...) Click here to see my signature: Spoiler ALWAYS GOOD TO READ: Forum Rules Forum Etiquette
