How do I create an internet shortcut on the desktop?

Recommended Posts

This seems absurdly simple, but I've searched the help file and forum and came up dry.

Basically, I was expecting to find something equivalent to FileCreateShortcut, except for web links, not file links. I know I can probably create the shortcut on my computer, then FileInstall the .lnk file, but I was looking for something a little more programmatic.

Am I missing something obvious? Thanks.

Thanks - that works great! I forgot that you don't have to specify an executable with Windows.

To create a regular URL shortcut:

IniWrite(@DesktopDir&"\google.URL","InternetShortcut","URL","www.google.com")

Question about decompiling code? Read the decompiling FAQ and don't bother posting the question in the forums.
