Does GUIRegisterMSG only work for windows created by AutoIt? OR can it be used for automating other windows?

If not, is there anyway to register functions to be called when something happens in a window. For instance a button is clicked in an external application, and I want to respond to it, without having to use a loop to keep checking if that button is clicked or not.

Thanks for the replies.

Yashied, after reading through that thread, I came to the conclusion the only way to do this is via a 3rd party dll (dssubcls.dll), right?

KaFu, It's a 64bit process, thanks anyway.
