i have a script i wrote and part of if does a date comparison of the date on a file, and the todays date. im just using FileGetTime to setup array, then _NowCalc and Datdiff and I write todays date in the registry key at the end.

here my question:

within a "different" script, i now need to pull that date i just put into the registry and do a different calculation. how can i pull the date from the registry key into an array so i can do the other calculation. i can do a regread but i cant get it into an array so i can do the calculation. im feeling rather small right now cause it seems rather easy.. lol

any assistance would be appriciated.

maybe i explained it wrong so let me clarify. this is how i do the original calculation

$n_tFile2 = "\\" & $Workstation & "\" & $SysPath2 & "\CCMSetup\ccmsetup.log"
$n_Fdate2 = FileGetTime($n_tFile2,0)
$sdate2=$n_Fdate2[0] & "/" & $n_Fdate2[1] & "/" & $n_Fdate2[2] & " " &  $n_Fdate2[3] & ":" & $n_Fdate2[4] & ":" & $n_Fdate2[5]
$edate2=_NowCalc()
$help2 = _DateDiff ('n',$sdate2,$eDate2)

this is how i write the date to the reg.

Regwrite("\\" & $Workstation & "\" & $TestAcl , "InsCountDate","REG_SZ",_Now())

even if i take the top script an just change the "$n_Fdate2 = FileGetTime($n_tFile2,0)" to a regread, i get an array error. I know the info from the reg is good cause i can send it to a message box to view it... i thought that maybe im doing something wrong or that maybe I need another process after the regread before the calculation. again all assistance is appreciate.

the $TestAcl varible is a HKLM key because this script is repairing some stuff on the machine.. dont want it running per user. also i figure out what i did wrong with my script..

lol.. thanks

i should mention tho that when i tried to compare the date from the registey which i put there with "_now()", the format was wrong and calculation would fail. i switched to _NowCalcDate which set the format correctly in the reg and the calculation would work perfect.
