I'm having trouble with @CPUArch. When I create a script it reports X64 which conflicts with what the Registry tells me.

$CPUType = @CPUArch
MsgBox(4096, "CPU Type", "Your CPU is: " & $CPUType)

This shows "X64"

Howver, if I do

$CPUType = RegRead("HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\HARDWARE\DESCRIPTION\System\CentralProcessor\0", "Identifier")
MsgBox(4096, "CPU Type", "Your CPU is: " & $CPUType)

It says "x86 Family 6 Model 13 Stepping 8"

Has anyone else ran into this? I'm just curious.

I just tried the Registry code it shows I have a 64bit architecture. Maybe someone with a higher knowledge of CPU's will be able to explain why you are getting this.

I get a similar result as the OP, but I guess that @CPUArch returns the physical CPU architecture while that registry key reflects the current use mode of the CPU.

@guinness are you running 32- or 64-bit OS?

This wonderful site allows debugging and testing regular expressions (many flavors available). An absolute must have in your bookmarks.

SQLitespeed is another feature-rich premier SQLite manager (includes import/export). Well worth a try.
SQLite Expert (freeware Personal Edition or payware Pro version) is a very useful SQLite database manager.
An excellent eBook covering almost every aspect of SQLite3: a must-read for anyone doing serious work.

Hi,

I tried the registry key on two OS (XP 32Bit and 2008 64Bit) and on Xp it start with "x86 Family..." on 2008 it states "Intel64 Family". Both CPUs are 64Bit, so it shows the CPU-family, modell and stepping not the actual architecture (as all are x86 compatible).

I am running XP SP3 (32-bit).

The first script shows X64.

Second shows x86 Family 6 Model 23 Stepping 10.

Edit: HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Environment\PROCESSOR_ARCHITECTURE = x86
