am632 Posted March 17, 2011 Share Posted March 17, 2011 Hi, I have an inputbox and a browse button, when the browse button is clicked you can browse for a directory and it automatically updates the inputbox with selected dir and saves it to a variable ($DESTINATION). I also have a variable ($PICTURESDIR) determined by a folder path based on which operating system you have. This works fine but how can I check to see if the drive letter of the backup and of the pictures path is the same or different, and display a msgbox of the result? I'm thinking it must start off something along the lines of... $CHECKDESTINATIONLETTER=StringLeft($DESTINATION,1) $CHECKBACKUPLETTER=StringLeft(@HomeDrive,1) but im not sure as this is the first time I have done this, I have had a look in the help files but i'm a bit stuck to be honest. thanks Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Tut then sometimes drive letters can be upper or lowercase, so I think "=" would here be better to compare the strings instead of (more accurate) "==".
