AutoItSetOption("TrayIconHide", 1) hides the icon as soon as possible, which is usually around 350ms after the process is created. #notrayicon Using the above, the icon really is not created in the taskbar _at all_. But the problem is that at the end of the installation, the autoit icon wouldn't disappear form the notifcation area preferences, even if I reboot the computer. The icon itself isn't there, it's just giving the user the opportunity to display it, if it is ever run again. I see this as a non-issue and much ado about nothing. Flushing the cache and then trying with #NoTrayIcon would solve that. George Question about decompiling code?
