Hello All!

I am brand new to AutoIt and am very excited about its potential.

I am currently trying to make a GUI for a Batch file that I have already written.

The goal is to basically retrieve input from the user as to which directory a file is located.

Once the user selects the appropriate folder I want to run my batch file.

The reason I need this is because the batch file utilizes GPS Babel to re-write any GPX file in the current directory.

I needed to use current directory because GPSBabel does not allow for the full path name.

Therefor the goal is basically to obtain the correct directory and then 'CD' and run the batch file in that directory.

My first question is How can I prompt a user for this directory using a GUI and then Execute my app when OK is clicked?

Welcome to the Forum. You do know that most batch commands can be converted to AutoIt Native code?! To get you started I would suggest having a look at as GUI creation was something that I didn't start learning straight away. You can also find more information from the Help File under "GUI Management," for Example there are two Examples under GUICreate().

My first question is How can I prompt a user for this directory using a GUI and then Execute my app when OK is clicked?

Have a look in the Help File for FileSelectFolder(), GUICreate() & GUICtrlCreateButton(). Good luck!
