I had someone coming to this forum and saying the Autoit script is now not working. My actual question is why do we have to change scripts, what makes the codes change? If I created a software from Autoit and the script is kind of more than 1000 lines of code, how would I possibly start changing the codes? I don't mind going through the codes and changing it but "time" is another thing. Any solutions to this problem? Thank You. guinness Posted August 29, 2011 Share Posted August 29, 2011 (edited) Your best bet is to record in your script (comment section) the AutoIt version this was last working with & then compare the changelog, especially the section entitled 'script breaking changes' to see if this applies to you. Another tool to check the syntax is Au3Check (Ctrl+F7 in SciTE4AutoIt3.) Can anyone tell me or the Autoit Team why scripts change?The reason is simple, AutoIt is being improved upon. Skitty Posted August 29, 2011 Share Posted August 29, 2011 Its easy, just run the syntax checker and replace the culprit functions. I doubt that a script 1000 lines long is going to be difficult to fix at all. to make it harder, just look for script break changes, to make it easier, learn the syntax and know what shouldn't be there. I just read your comment about it being a timely process, well, I can't imagine a 1000 line script being that much of a problem, why not just post it here?
