Case $inCRM $temp=GUICtrlRead($inCRM) msgbox(0,"Test","CRM number is " & $temp ) if IsNumber($temp) <> 1 Then msgbox(0,"Error","CRM Number must be a numeric string") Else.... No matter what I put into the $inCRM input field I get the error message indicating it non numeric. The msgbox confirms that what I am testing for displays as numeric, but IsNumber keeps coming back not 1. What am I missing here? Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
wraithdu Posted December 14, 2011 Share Posted December 14, 2011 You're missing the point. IsNumber() simply checks the internal variant data type of the variable. As mentioned, GUICtrlRead of an Input or Edit control returns a string. In this case IsNumber() will always return false. You should use the StringIs* functions to test the content of the string. The $ES_NUMBER style will definitely be useful (From a user friendliness perspective I'm thinking it would be useful if the help on GUICtrlRead said it always returned a string, rather than just "data".)
