Case $inCRM $temp=GUICtrlRead($inCRM) msgbox(0,"Test","CRM number is " & $temp ) if IsNumber($temp) <> 1 Then msgbox(0,"Error","CRM Number must be a numeric string") Else.... No matter what I put into the $inCRM input field I get the error message indicating it non numeric. The msgbox confirms that what I am testing for displays as numeric, but IsNumber keeps coming back not 1. What am I missing here?
wraithdu Posted December 14, 2011 Posted December 14, 2011 You're missing the point. IsNumber() simply checks the internal variant data type of the variable. As mentioned, GUICtrlRead of an Input or Edit control returns a string. In this case IsNumber() will always return false. You should use the StringIs* functions to test the content of the string. So to be fair, 68852 didn't totally miss the point
