Allow2010 Posted January 3, 2012 Posted January 3, 2012 Hi all, i have a situation where i would like to foind out when and how a computer looses connection to the server. I would like to monitor the linkstate of the network card (to see if it is connected, and if it has a 10 or 100 or 1000 Mb/s connection) and also i would like to check if the server can be reached... all this should be saved to a logfile... So my main problem ist: how can i monitor the link state of the network card and how can i monitor that a connection to the server really exist... The existance of the server could be monitored by reading/writing to a file on the server (but i can not use too much bandwith) and by pinging the server... Any other idea that may help in this situation is welcome, too... Thanks in advance...
