Is there way to generate 4096 lines of text faster than 8.633 sec?

I am trying to generate all possible cases of given string. Code works but it takes 8.6 sec to generate 4096 lines of text. PHP generated that in 1.7 sec. Is there way to optimize that algorithm or is there any better algorithm? If it takes that long it makes me think it does a lot overhead work. But I can't come up with better algorithm.

Look for the version of FileWrite that uses a handle. You get the handle from FileOpen. The help file says this runs very much faster than the FileWrite you are using, which opens and closes the file after each write.

Replace

if is_upper($str)
with
if StringUpper($str) == $str
so you'll save a lot of function calls.

E1M1,

I am sure you are not intending to do such a thing, but what you have there is the bare bones of a brute force password cracker. So I am locking the thread and removing your code. ;)
