new au3 file

I typed it in and closed the regedit. when i went back in the regedit, it shows

[MasonMill]

I think you are in the wrong registry key in that picture...

Ok i was in the wrong registry key. I needed to be in root.

On my desktop it still appears as a text icon. In my downloads windows they appear as the purple icon.

It is an au3 file but it appears as a notpad txt file

I also can not right click and create new au3 file.

i take it back, i can create it but it still appears as a text file.

I think you need to restart your pc or at least EXPLORER.EXE before all become active.

Give that a try..

I just did a system restore before the point where all this took place. Thank you for all of your patience and help!

Maybe there could be a reg file that the user would import with all reg keys needed in case something like this happened.

I got such a reg file, but since the problem is solved...
