You are going to need to provide replication steps...such as a script to demonstrate your issue...as defined, everything appears to be fine:

Run ("notepad")
$hWin = WinWaitActive("[CLASS:Notepad]")
ControlSend($hWin, "", "[CLASS:Edit; INSTANCE:1]", "/")

Use the Flag parameter and set it to 1, which is raw mode, which means there's no interpretation of any of the characters in the string being sent. This also means you can't use characters like "+" to replace the Shift key.

If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.

What application are you sending the string to? Does it manipulate data at all?

I'm still not able to reproduce (close the notepad to stop the script):

Run ("notepad")
$hWin = WinWaitActive("[CLASS:Notepad]")
While WinExists($hWin)
 ControlSend($hWin,"","[CLASS:Edit; INSTANCE:1]","abc1234///." & @LF,1)
 ControlSend($hWin,"","[CLASS:Edit; INSTANCE:1]","abc1234///." & @LF,0)
 Sleep(100)
WEnd
