Biatu Posted July 28, 2013 Author Posted July 28, 2013 (edited) It's quite difficult to tell exactly what you are trying to accomplish, but at least this reads the slider: The problem is that even though I declared $Timer, and $SlideVal in the global scope, when I try changing it...It does not change. Basically the function of this script was to calculate the time between slider ticks. Earlier i used WM_NOFITY to do this...but the $Timer = TimerInit() was in WM_NOTIFY Function, so it was always returning about 8MilliSec no matter how slow or fast I moved that slider. And when $Timer declaration to global scope...TimerDiff started throwing me the same value as if I executed TimerDiff(""). My goal is to create a slider that actually slides/glides with momentum, and when it hits one of the extremes (min or max) it should bounce back as if it was hitting a rubber bumper. Yeah! Don't open 4 identical threads next time. Not to be a pain, but I have had variable scope issues before, did research on the forums, and found nothing. When using Not, wrap the expression in parenthesese e.g. Not (This == Something). There was a topic about this last week. Thanks, never figured out why NOT didn't work very well, so i usually just used "<>" Edited July 28, 2013 by Biatu What is what? What is what.
guinness Posted July 28, 2013 Posted July 28, 2013 Well <> is case-insensitive, so sometimes you need to use == and Not for strings. Moderators Melba23 Posted July 28, 2013 Moderators Posted July 28, 2013 Biatu, Not to be a pain, but I have had variable scope issues before, did research on the forums, and found nothingThat does not excuse you from creating 4 identical threads this morning. I deleted 2 of them immediately and moved the single response in the third to this thread before deleting that one too - which leaves us with just this remaining thread.
