Change default .AU3 template

Hello,

I would like to include some everyday code in all my new scripts.

As it is now when I right-click, select new from the context-menu and create a new AU3 file I get this.

    Template AutoIt script.

That's fine in all but I would like to add a few lines that I always have to copy/paste in.

Is there a way to change the template to include my code?

I use Windows 7 UltX64

NewPlaza,

Look for "C:WindowsShellNewTemplate.au3" and amend it - you will probably need admin rights to do this on Vista+.

If the line(s) you want to include have to change every day (date...) you can also use something like this instead of the right click/new

$content = @HOUR & ":" & @MIN
$title = "My New AutoIt Script"
$newfile = @scriptdir & "\" & $title & ".au3"
If FileExists($newfile) Then
  For $i = 2 to 20
    $newfile = @scriptdir & "\" & $title & " (" & $i & ").au3"
    If Not FileExists($newfile) Then Exitloop
  Next
EndIf
$file = FileOpen($newfile, 1)
FileWrite($file, $content)
FileClose($file)

I use this with $content = ClipGet() each time I grab a script on this forum
