face
its thousands of items on a calc sheet, i need to rename all of them because its all chinese. cant afford translating. i get duplicates when translated. i already renamed all items once but it takes 4-5 hours with a macro line per line. i figured out i have to repeat this with thousands of items. if someone creates this i'll use a macro that changes rows and does the ctrl+v automatically and theres no translation required, its all going to be random words. item names are not important i used pulover's macro creator btw
Moderators Melba23 Posted December 6, 2013 Moderators Share Posted December 6, 2013 face,If the items are going to be complete gibberish when translated, what on earth is the point of the calc sheet? I am really struggling to think of a reason why I should not lock this thread as a complete waste of my and everyone else's time - so best you provide one by giving us a full explanation PDQ. Moderators Melba23 Posted December 6, 2013 Moderators Share Posted December 6, 2013 (edited) face,Last chance saloon now. What is this "calc sheet", why do you want to "translate" the existing Chinese within it to random English alphabet soup, and what is the overall purpose of this whole enterprise? No sensible answer = locked thread. The ball is in your court..... Jonniy
BTW: If you want to translate, you can use the free microsoft translator api. I've coded a function for it before, but it's crappy and needs to be optimized...You also have to go through a register process.<snip> Edited December 6, 2013 by Melba23 Code removed Thanks for your help & have a good day. Moderators Melba23 Posted December 6, 2013 Moderators Share Posted December 6, 2013 Jonniy,Just in case you did not notice, there is a banner under my avatar that says "Moderator". In this forum when a Moderator is trying to ascertain whether or not to lock a thread, posting anything at all in it is not a very sensible thing to do - particularly when that Mod has already removed some code in a previous post.I will take a very dim view of you doing such a thing again - so please engage your brain before posting in future.
