Hello.

Just a simple question, is it somehow possible to compile a file with comments, without removing the comments when it's being compiled.

I'm just curious if it's possible

Why would you want to do that? The comments have no use to the developer/author once the script is compiled.

As far as I know comment lines are always stripped to reduce the size if the executable as much as possible.

You can add simple comments using the #AutoIt3Wrapper_Res_Comment directive. Or you can include the entire script text within the compiled exe resources using the #AutoIt3Wrapper_Res_SaveSource directive - guinness has a function to extract it somewhere in the cornucopia of his signature! :D

Look in the SciTe help file for more details. :)

Yeah, it's there under _GetSavedSource() or now you can do it natively via FileInstall()...

FileInstall(@ScriptFullPath, 'Script.au3')

Though I still think the question is a little suspicious.

I dont know that its terribly suspicious, as much as a not so effective means to the end.  

But playing the advocate of the forum rules,  if the only means by which something is used is through decomp (as would be the only way to go back and read these comments if all else was default), then it also should be disallowed.
