BUG? ExpandVarStrings does not work on com object properties

I am wondering if I should submit this as a bug to trac. AutoIt does not support object properties to expand variable strings. I am slightly confused by this, but it is also understandable. I am aware of how it can be worked around, by going back to " & $var.blablabla & " but that defeats some of the purpose of ExpandVarStrings.

No that's not a bug. If anything that would be a feature request but I really doubt they would work on adding that functionality as that option isnt seen used that much. At least on the forums.

The code above is not working.

It worked for me. Just didnt expand the "$vars.widget.window.title$"

I imagine autoit probably holds a table of defined vars and if there is a $...$ AND that var is declared then it expands. Otherwise it will have to assume and treat it as a string. Autoit is unaware of the properties of that object unitl it actually tries to access it. If it automattically tried to treat anything inside $..$ as a var something like this would crash:

$var = 10
MsgBox(0, '', 'declared var = $var$')
MsgBox(0, '', 'non declared var = $var2$')
