A bunch of AV products are now detecting this. I cannot even install it since I have formatted my computer. I don't know if this is a false positive or if something malicious has snook inside the installer when it was updated? Free and easy Autoit scripting video tutorials (plus more videos always coming!) JustSomeone
I don't actually want to go in details for antivirus software, everyone has his taste BUT those programs that detect it are the most retarded antivirus programs ever existed. And to stay ontopic - it is most likely the way that the installer is packed, and it is not an actual virus. I recently updated it, and according to my antivirus program ( panda ) there is nothing wrong with it EDIT: any chance it got infected after you download it and before you send it for analisys? Moderators Melba23 Posted May 14, 2014 Moderators Share Posted May 14, 2014 Hi all,I am getting really fed-up with these constant "Oh my God, it is a virus" reports for AutoIt and its associated tools - only today I have had PMs asking about "What should I do?" and now I find this. We do NOT add malware to our installers - of course if you download them from other than this site then all bets are off. There is also a PINNED thread which explains that you should contact the relevant AV company and tell them that their scanner is giving false positive - we will NOT do this for you. Last but not least, you pay nothing for AutoIt so if you are at all concerned then just do not use it - simple, really. So, can we please stop this incessant posting on this subject. If you see AutoIt flagged, then please contact the AV company directly - there is no point in posting here, all it does is increase the number of hits for "AutoIt is a virus" searches which does not help anyone at all.
