String between with regexp

I have a bad formatted file and now I have to find a way to read data. I saw a pattern that my valid data has one of this form:

[NULL]Data[EOT][sTX]

[NULL]Data[ETX][sTX]

I tried to get data with this pattern but seems to catch just some data not all those words between above tags.

x00(.*?)(x04|x03)x02

Maybe it's related to new lines or my pattern it's wrong?

For a simple line like in your example it's quite simple. But seems for a full file it's need something more. I attached a sample file.

If you open the file with excel you can see what I expect to get; at least the table header but I got just 3 columns names (CodCuloare,PretCuTaxe,FisaMontaj).

Why not use the Excel UDF? Also I am still a little lost at what output you want e.g.

array[0] = this
array[1] = that
array[2] = and

Because I have to run the script on a machine without excel. I want to have an output like this one:

array[0] = Pozitie
array[1] = Produs
array[2] = CodObiect
array[3] = Amplasare
array[4] = OrdineCategorie
array[5] = Categorie
array[6] = DenCategorie
array[7] = CodSimplu
array[8] = Cod_Mag
array[9] = Culoare

array[17] = Valuta
array[18] = Imagine

All those column names fit in this pattern [NULL]<word>[EOT|ETX][sTX]

Your requirements - [NULL]<word>[EOT|ETX][sTX] - bring unwanted matches, so you must add a criterion of selection

Thank you, I got almost all data, I just have to check for those columns that not contains data.

I thought there were some which weren't a whole word?
