AutoIT return multiple values

4 posts in this topic

Hello everyone ! Is it posible to return multiple values in autoIt?

Here i have a code piece, to bring a more understandable view of the problem:

func _StringReadToArray_($string)
    local $stringArray[StringLen($string) + 1] = [StringSplit($string,"")]
    for $i = 0 to ubound($stringArray) -1
        return $StringArray[$i]
    next
endfunc

now, if i'm gonna call the function i defined, and the string has more than one value, then it only returns the first value. How could i make the script return multiple values? It usually happens with a lot of programming languages.

Thanks in advnace

_StringReadToArray_('Hello')

; It usually returns only H, but i want to make it return all values.

Or better pass the return variable ByRef:

Local $aRetVar

func _StringReadToArray_($string, ByRef $aRetVar)
    $aRetVar = StringSplit($string,"")
endfunc

Or if you need a string and not an array

Local $aArray[5] = ["H", "E", "L", "L", "O"]

Local $sValue = _GetMultipleValue($aArray, 4)
If Not @error Then MsgBox(0, 0, $sValue)

Func _GetMultipleValue(ByRef $aArray, $iNum)
    Local $sReturn
    If $iNum >= UBound($aArray) Then Return SetError(1, 0, 0)
    For $x = 0 To $iNum
        $sReturn &= $aArray[$x]
    Next
    Return $sReturn
EndFunc   ;==>_GetMultipleValue
