Hello!

I want AutoIT to open a browser without actually showing the browser on screen.

I want AutoIT to do stuff on the internet without showing it on the screen.

How can I do this?

Hello. Probably reading AutoIt help file or doing a simple google search to get results.

The brackets [] denote (optional and default values) parameters.  They should not be supplied to a function, just the acceptable input values/types for the given function.

edit: in fact, there appear to be other parameters that proceed the visible param.  You'll need to set them too.

From the help file, " Many functions contain optional parameters that can be omitted. If you wish to specify an optional parameter, however, all preceding parameters must be specified!
For example, consider Run ( "filename", ["workingdir" [, flag]] ). If you wish to specify the flag, you must specify a workingdir. "

So, for the _IECreate function
_IECreate ( [$sUrl = "about:blank" [, $iTryAttach = 0 [, $iVisible = 1 [, $iWait = 1 [, $iTakeFocus = 1]]]]] )

You would do
_IECreate('http://google.com', 0, 0)

Do not specify the name of the parameter variable...just the value you want to assign.

;BAD
_IECreate ($sUrl = "about:blank", $iTryAttach = 0, $iVisible = 0)

;Good
_IECreate("about:blank", 0, 0)

If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.

I hereby grant any person the right to use any code I post, that I am the original author of, on the autoitscript.com forums, unless I've specifically stated otherwise in the code or the thread post. If you do use my code all I ask, as a courtesy, is to make note of where you got it from.

I'm pretty sure that no one can help what's wrong here.

Everyone else who responded knew too, some where we just hopeful you'd try to think for yourself without having to spell it out for you.
