Borje Posted August 1, 2018 Posted August 1, 2018 (edited) Hello, I wonder how to detect @DesktopWidth the actual screen resolution and then automatically insert it into the tooltip message for the correct positon even if you change the screen resolution. Also I want do automatic detect the @desktopwidth Thank you for tips and examples. $a = @DesktopWidth - 1280 $b = @DesktopHeight - 100 ToolTip(" This is a test tools message", $a, $b, "Test tool message", 1, 1) Edited August 2, 2018 by Borje

Borje Posted August 1, 2018 Author Posted August 1, 2018 Hi I want to atomatic detect the @DesktopWidth not the fixed 1280 but in another computer I have another resolution and I want to automatic detect and insert this to the tooltip to have correct position on differt screen resolution.
BrewManNH Posted August 1, 2018 Posted August 1, 2018 Use better math. If you want it centered, then divide by 2. If you want it at the lower right hand corner, figure out the math needed to get the tip there regardless of the dimensions. You can't use a fixed number on different resolutions, you need to understand the math. If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.Give a programmer the correct code and he can do his work for a day. Borje Posted August 1, 2018 Author Posted August 1, 2018 Hi BrewManNH Yes I know but I wonder if that is anybody command to read the default screenmode and then automatic put in that in tooltip message.
BrewManNH Posted August 1, 2018 Posted August 1, 2018 You already did that in the first post, now you need to figure out the math needed to do the same for any resolution. This will center the tip on the primary monitor $a = @DesktopWidth / 2 $b = @DesktopHeight / 2 ToolTip(" This is a centered test tools message", $a, $b, "Test tool message", 1, 1) Sleep(10000) If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.Give a programmer the correct code and he can do his work for a day. Borje Posted August 1, 2018 Author Posted August 1, 2018 Im sorry for my bad english but this I have already tested my question is how to read the actual resolution to a string value, if I want ro run the program in example in my notebook there is another resulotion there and I not want to have the tooltip in center of screen therefor I want to automatic detect the resolution in a string to set the @desktopwidth and place the tooltip in that position that the another computer have the @desktopheight are all time default to 100 @desktopheigt are default 100.
BrewManNH Posted August 1, 2018 Posted August 1, 2018 Give an example of what the resolution is of both computers, and where on the screen you want the tooltip. If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.Give a programmer the correct code and he can do his work for a day. Borje Posted August 2, 2018 Author Posted August 2, 2018 Hi BrewManNH I have this resolutions in my notebook 1366x768 and in my second computer 1280x1024 and I want it to be displayed in the lower left corner.
careca Posted August 2, 2018 Posted August 2, 2018 (edited) For the lower left the X is zero.. $a = 0 $b = @DesktopHeight-100 ToolTip(" This is a test tools message", $a, $b, "Test tool message", 1, 1) Sleep(3000) Edited August 2, 2018 by careca Spoiler Renamer - Rename files and folders, remove portions of text from the filename etc. GPO Tool - Export/Import Group policy settings.
