Convert DOS "for-in-do"

I have the following....cannot seem to make heads-nor-tails of it...

:: Copy (desktop.ini) files (folder icon fix)...
for %%f in %_folders1% do (
if exist %_oldPath1%%%f\ xcopy %_oldPath1%%%f\desktop.ini %_newPath1%%%f\ /e /c /h /r /y
)
for %%f in %_folders2% do (
if exist %_oldPath2%%%f\ xcopy %_oldPath2%%%f\desktop.ini %_newPath2%%%f\ /e /c /h /r /y
)

Any assistance would be appreciated...

As a start: (But it might need some modification depending on the content of %_folders1%)
