i did wonder why you had put _ShellAll_Install("Start Example") in where you did as it would only create the context item after the compiled code has been already executed and then removes it ?

anyhow i removed my reg entries and used your _shellall() on its own to create the context item, i tried using your edited code above (with the _ShellAll_Install("Start Example") ) removed but it still does not parse the correct data.

Im going to quit for today as my head is buzzing & im starting to make mistakes (not got when playing with the reg).

I really think SendTo is the smart approach in this instance, like I said it works for me on Windows 7 x64...OK sometimes it's sporadic but at least I've tried to work out where the problem is and that is many instances bombarding the initial process with the windows message (WM_COPYDATA). Plus didn't you try _ShellAll.au3? I've taken out the stress of handling the registry when adding to the shell contextmenu.

woohoo, After having something to eat and thinking there must be a different way to go about this i came up with a really simple answer

Of course there is the approach of writing to a file but I'm sure if you gave me time I could work out the little glitch.

aye well it wasn't so much the writing the data to a file so much as how do you get them all to write to the same file at the same time ! well so you think well i'll get them to write to there own file each but since they are all comprised of one script it becomes how to have each of them having its own file to write to. I had though along these lines before but couldn't see past that problem at the time.

As I've said the 1st instance is being bombarded with messages so what I added was to wait for the 2nd instance to finish and then continue with the 3rd, 4th etc... but it has an 85% success rate.
