4. Correct. Make sure your script has a "break" button to interrupt sending mails at any time. That's helpful when you discover an error in your script and want to stop processing before you spam your custormers

Thanks for the quick response. I was just on the German forum.  The Outlook.au3 is discontinued and all should be done with the OutlookEX.au3, right?

I will implement and get back to you . As far as few comments is concerned, do not be discouraged.  My impression is that when it works well, people implement as expected.  The fact that it is being downloaded without comments probably indicates a very high success rate.

Right, Wooltown (the author of Outlook.au3) seems to be no longer active on this forum. Wooltown and I completely rewrote the Outlook UDF with a completely different structure as described in post #1 of this thread.

It's the same for all UDFs I have written: Excel, Word, ExcelChart and OutlookEX (and soon: PowerPoint). It has become quiet after the initial discussions so I think users are quite happy with what the UDFs provide.

It would be interesting to see if you could do this and have it read your local GAL and be able to grab the first name or company name from there and add it to the email as a variable. To me that would be just as good as buying the little system that we have that allows us to send mass emails to people and every email says (Hey "persons first name"). I'm pretty positive that can be done.

I need to start looking into writing something like that because that would save my company a couple thousand a quarter.

While writing this i realized that this is a great idea and i'm now going to work on writing the code for it.

I have the rare privilege to have access to multiple exchange environments so this should be pretty fun. @water i'll keep you updated.

Please have a look at functions _OL_AddressListGet and _OL_AddressListMemberGet to grab a list of all available address books, select the needed one and call _OL_AddressListMemberGet to get a list of members.

Hi, I'm using your tool to read the appointments present in OL13 calendar and it works good.

However, I'm having difficulty with modifying a meeting from Calendar.

I need a way to open a meeting with given subject and then edit it from there. In a way to double click on certain meeting in Callendar, so that dialog window can appear.

Is there any way to do this or some workaround?

Use _OL_ItemFind to search for the item and return the EntryID, then pass this EntryID to _OL_ItemModify to change the appointment.
See the example scripts for details.

_OL_ItemDisplay is the real function that I was looking for.It opens an appointment with the givent EntryID, that i get form _OL_ItemFind.

You need to modify the event manually. I was thinking about an automatic update. That's why I suggested _OL_ItemModify

When using your brilliant Outlook UDF on a client that doesn't have Outlook installed, it comes with an error (of course)

Is it possible to detect whether a client has Outlook or not, and react from it?

_OL_Open returns @error = 1 when the Outlook object could not be created.

Ah yeah okay. In my script, _OL_Open isn't called until line 1038, so if I want the entire script not to run if Outlook isn't installed, I would have to add another _OL_Open in the top of the script as well. Yes?

Or check for process Outlook.exe using ProcessList for a running Outlook.
If Outlook is not running you could then check for a installed version. Either by checking the program directory or the registry.

If ProcessExists("Outlook.exe") or FileExists("C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office14\Outlook.exe") Then ... ; Outlook runs or is installed
