Problem playing animation

Could anyone help me for this ?

I want to play a 503 images animation on a popup gui. It works nice, but when I launch the script, there is a delay of about 5 seconds before the anim begins to play.

I tried the 2 methods below but the problem remains the same

$gui = GUICreate("test", 340, 410, 700, 640, $WS_POPUP, $WS_EX_LAYERED)
$pic = GUICtrlCreatePic ("", 0, 0, 340, 410)

So my question is : is there a way to get rid of this delay ?

I don't get the same problem. Why not move your images into @ScripDir? OR use _PathGetRelative() instead of ".\image1.png"

It's not a path problem, I tried putting the script in the same folder than images and other things, no change

How big are the images? Would you be able to upload them?

My .png images are 30 Kb each, difficult to upload 15 Mb here

The .bmp are 400 Kb each, but that makes no difference in delay when playing

And yes I tried @scriptdir and so on (with both methods)

Have you tried converting the PNG's to BMP's and then using the First Example you provided?

I would imagine its just your system, or location of those files, i tried it with some very large images and the max delay i could get was 2 seconds. This should prevent the empty GUI from appearing until the first image is loaded.

I already had this problem with animations, and I noticed that bigger are the images, longer is the delay

In fact I'm looking for a way to preload images in memory (cant find that...) because I partially solved the problem with large anims using a "Loading..." box with a progressbar, and this script :

    GUICtrlSetData($prog, $i *100/$nb) ;for the progressbar
    $hImage = _GDIPlus_ImageLoadFromFile($path & $i & ".png")
    _GDIPlus_ImageDispose($hImage)
Next       ; I don't know why but this loop seems to work like a kind of 'preloading'...

_GDIPlus_Startup()

In this case when the progressbar is complete then the animation starts at once

Solved...

my 503 images were numbered 000.png, 001.png, ... to 502.png

When numbered 0.png, 1.png, etc then the delay disappears

OK. To be honest how would we have known that? This is why it would have been ideal to have the images (despite the size) then the problem could have been solved earlier.

Hehe I agree ...

Though I'm not sure that the solution was so obvious even if it was simple (once known...)

Hope this silly event may help someone else anyway
