Merrik
Hi, I was wondering if anyone has an explaination for the following: I have a script that I use IniRead and it points to C:\Windows\System32 on Windows 7. It fails to find the file. If I place the INI file somewhere else like C:\Windows or on my D:\ drive for example it works fine. I am running the script ad Administrator. Any thoughts are appreciated. BrewManNH
Are you using @SystemDir on an x64 version of Windows 7? Because it will point to another folder on an x64 system. If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. BrewManNH
With the way that Windows 7 is locked down to prevent unwanted tampering with system files, I would suggest not putting anything into the system32 or even the C:\Windows folders that doesn't belong there. An .ini file doesn't need to be in there to operate, it isn't working because it's in there, so put it somewhere that it will work and all problems are solved. It is one of the things you have to be aware of when working with the system folders, and find a work-around that doesn't impact what you're trying to do. AdmiralAlkex
I am using Windows 7 X64, but I am not using @SYSTEMDIR. #AutoIt3Wrapper_UseX64=n $var = IniRead("C:\Windows\system32\myfile.ini", "Time", "TimeIS", "NotFound") That's clearly your problem. x86 apps get redirected to the x86 system-folder, SysWOW64, they don't work in system32 without workarounds. If you have some extra time I recommend you check out Programming Guide for 64-bit Windows, but if you're in a hurry skip directly to File System Redirector for now. It will explain why this happens and how to work with it And I hope that was just a bad example, user data should not be in the system-folders. .Some of my scripts: ShiftER, Codec-Control, Resolution switcher for HTC ShiftSome of my UDFs: SDL UDF, SetDefaultDllDirectories, Converting GDI+ Bitmap/Image to SDL Surface
