[Solved] - Filewrite using unicode

6 posts in this topic

Hey everyone.

I want to write unicode text to a file. The thing is that I want the program to create this file and write to it, and so I dont want to use the fileopen command to tell the script that the file is unicode. Does anybody know a way that I could do this?

Thanks.

Is there a good reason for NOT using FileOpen()?

If you use the flag 32, 64, 128 or 256 in combination with 8 (create file and dir structure if it doesn't exist), you'll have what you're looking for.

I dont want to use fileopen because the file will not exist. The idea is that when I use filewrite, it will actually create the file.

@Mikeman... you need to read well the helpfile :mellow:

Opening a file in write mode creates the file if it does not exist. Directories are not created unless the correct flag is used.

FileOpen can create the file if you tell it to. I would suggest looking at the flags for FileOpen in the help file.

Global $hFile

$hFile = FileOpen("File.txt", 2 + 8 + 32)
FileWrite($hFile, "Text")
FileClose($hFile)

FileOpen()

- Opens a text file for reading or writing.
