The PCRE (Regular Expression) ToolKit for AutoIT - (Updated Oct 20, 2011 ver:3.0.1.13) - Please update your current version before filing any bug reports. The installer now includes both 32 and 64 bit versions. No change in version number.

Unfortunately, Availability field always equals 3, both when the Screen is On or Off.

Damn,

It could've been extremely useful to detect when the screen is off.

I wanted to use it, for differentiating the beehavior of my personal script, based on the screen's power state.

For example,

Some Alerts that I have for important events(using Sound), will not go off if the screen is off.

(the reason: Screen=Off in my case, means AFK, or Asleep, etc)

I think "power settings" contain some monitor/sleep usefull data

there is an option to turn off monitor after 5 min of inactivity for example.

You're talng about Windows' Control Panel?

I am not looking to Control the Screen's On/Off state,

I am looking to Read it.

Yahtzee The game "Yahtzee" (Kniffel, DiceLion)

LoginWrapper Secure scripts by adding a query (authentication)

_RunOnlyOnThis UDF Make sure that a script can only be executed on ... (Windows / HD / ...)

Internet-Café Server/Client Application Open CD, Start Browser, Lock remote client, etc.

MultipleFuncsWithOneHotkey Start different funcs by hitting one hotkey different times

It only gives a The PCRE (Regular Expression) ToolKit for AutoIT.

I took it out of my sig a while back and although I've already removed a lot of the files from my site that isn't one of them.

You aren't looking to see if it's off or not, you're looking to see if the computer is asleep or not, or if the computer has blanked the monitor. These are not the same thing. One implies you want to know if the monitor is powered down (off), the other implies that you want to know if the computer has gone to sleep or put the monitor to sleep (blanked).

If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.

You aren't looking to see if it's off or not, you're looking to see if the computer is asleep or not, or if the computer has blanked the monitor. These are not the same thing. I *am* looking to know if the screen is Off.

There's no ScreenSaver or PowerSetting in my PC.

It's always on, and never AutoSleeps.

When I leave the PC, I turn the Screen Off - via the Screen's power button.

Why taking it off the Signature? It's extremely useful..

Take a look to _WinAPI_RegisterPowerSettingNotification with $GUID_MONITOR_POWER_ON

The Helpfile doesn't contain _WinAPI_RegisterPowerSettingNotification()..

Why is that? :|

Does your monitor have speakers on it? Otherwise I don't see how it's power state would affect the sounds playing.

If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.

Okay, let's say there is no way to check if the monitor is switched off (hardware button).

There should be another way to get your task done, right?

What about checking mouse (in)activity?

Idle-time?

and so on.

This is false, there's a data link in every standard connection i know about. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Display_data_channel

or createfile, to see if the driver is available. Not totally sure if this is possible but im pretty sure.
