I did that :)

Local $var = ""
If $var > 0 Then
MsgBox(4096, "", "Value is positive.")
ElseIf $var < 0 Then
MsgBox(4096, "", "Value is negative.")
Else
If StringIsXDigit($var) Then
MsgBox(4096, "", "Value might be hexadecimal!")
Else
MsgBox(4096, "", "Value is a string.")
EndIf
EndIf

however it returns: Value might be hexadecimal!

the value is a 0, anyway to read the value of hexadecimal :)?

Use Number to explicitly convert the value to a number. Especially since you're using $var > 0 and not $var > '0'. Anyway, let me know how it goes.

I think you need to look at the help file for the function StringIsXDigit. 0 is a valid number as far as that function is concerned, so it's going to test as True when you use 0. As long as the string contains any digits 0-9 and/or the letters A-F, StringIsXDigit returns 1.

If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.
