hi all,

i am trying to get the computer model from wmi then dislplaying that information in a gui,

how would i do this by either writing the output to the wmi query to a text file then dislplaying that info, or is there a built in macro that i can get this info from?

i know the wmi query is:

+++++

wmic

computersystem get model

+++++

but im not sure on how to display the output in a gui.

thanks in advance.

Try this:

Global $sHost = @ComputerName

Global $objWMIComputerSystem = ObjGet("winmgmts:{impersonationLevel=impersonate}!" & $sHost & 'rootcimv2:Win32_ComputerSystem="' & $sHost & '"')
Global $sModel= $objWMIComputerSystem.Model

Global $hFile = FileOpen(@ScriptDir & "ComputerModel.txt", 1)
FileWriteLine($hFile, $sModel)
FileClose($hFile)

MsgBox(64, "Information", "Computer Model: " & $sModel)

Br,

Search for "Scriptomatic" in the example scripts forum. This script generates WMI queries in AutoIt for you.
