caleb41610 Posted October 22, 2012 Share Posted October 22, 2012 (edited) I'm using this script to generate unique serial-like strings. It works fine, and the arraydisplay shows different steps including the end result, which means it's working just fine. expandcollapse popup; Script Start - Add your code below here #include <Array.au3> #include <Crypt.au3> $num = 100 Global $key[$num + 1][10] $key[0][0] = $num _Crypt_Startup() $hKey = _Crypt_DeriveKey("testkey123", $CALG_DES) For $i = 1 To $num If $i < 10 Then $number = "0000" & $i Else If $i < 100 Then $number = "000" & $i Else If $i < 1000 Then $number = "00" & $i Else If $i < 10000 Then $number = "0" & $i Else If $i < 100000 Then $number = $i EndIf EndIf EndIf EndIf EndIf $key[$i][0] = $i $key[$i][1] = "key_" & $number $key[$i][2] = _Crypt_EncryptData($key[$i][1], $hKey, $CALG_DES) $key[$i][3] = StringReplace($key[$i][2], "0x", "") $p1 = StringMid($key[$i][3], 1, 4) $p2 = StringMid($key[$i][3], 5, 4) $p3 = StringMid($key[$i][3], 9, 4) $p4 = StringMid($key[$i][3], 13, 4) $p5 = StringMid($key[$i][3], 17, 4) $p6 = StringMid($key[$i][3], 21, 4) $p7 = StringMid($key[$i][3], 25, 4) $p8 = StringMid($key[$i][3], 29, 4) $key[$i][4] = $p1 & "-" & $p2 & "-" & $p3 & "-" & $p4 & "-" & $p5 & "-" & $p6 & "-" & $p7 & "-" & $p8 $key[$i][5] = StringReplace($key[$i][4], "-", "") $key[$i][6] = "0x" & $key[$i][5] $key[$i][7] = _Crypt_DecryptData($key[$i][6], $hKey, $CALG_DES) $key[$i][8] = BinaryToString($key[$i][7]) IniWrite(@ScriptDir & "\" & "Generated-Keys.ini", $key[$i][1], "KEY", $key[$i][4] ) Next _ArrayDelete($key, 0) _ArrayDisplay($key) _Crypt_Shutdown() However, when I take one of the strings from the generated INI file and try to decrypt it with this script... I get an incorrect result. #include <Crypt.au3> _Crypt_Startup() $hKey = _Crypt_DeriveKey("testkey123", $CALG_DES) $ini = @ScriptDir & "\" & "Generated-Keys.ini" $input3 = "FEBA-4D71-BA63-7B09-83B0-64A2-801D-2840" $key = StringReplace($input3, "-", "") $encrypted = "0x" & $key $decrypted = _Crypt_DecryptData($encrypted, $hKey, $CALG_DES) $string = BinaryToString($decrypted) MsgBox(0, "", $string) Any input would be appreciated. BrewManNH Posted October 22, 2012 Share Posted October 22, 2012 Use a password and don't use _Crypt_DeriveKey, this should fix the issue. From researching it, the derivekey is used as a session key, which means (I think), that it's only valid during the same session or while the program is running, as soon as the program stops the key isn't valid any longer. I probably got that completely wrong, but if you don't use _Crypt_DeriveKey it works perfectly. If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.Give a programmer the correct code and he can do his work for a day.
