Moderators Melba23 Posted December 11, 2012 Moderators Share Posted December 11, 2012 incepator, We need more information to offer any sensible advice. - What is this "text"? Is it in an edit control, or already in a variable or an array? - What do you want to do with the "word" when you find it? Highlight it, delete it, change it, just note the position of teh various instances? Over to you. Moderators Melba23 Posted December 11, 2012 Moderators Share Posted December 11, 2012 incepator,I would use StringReplace which puts the number of replacements into @extended - something like this:#include <EditConstants.au3> #include <GUIConstantsEx.au3> #include <WindowsConstants.au3> $Form1 = GUICreate("Form1", 243, 182, 446, 362) $Edit1 = GUICtrlCreateEdit("", 1, 0, 223, 105) GUICtrlSetData(-1, "This is a text 1 or text 2 or text 3") $Button1 = GUICtrlCreateButton("Search", 8, 112, 75, 25) $Label1 = GUICtrlCreateLabel("Work:", 88, 120, 38, 17) GUICtrlSetFont(-1, 8, 800, 0, "MS Sans Serif") $Input1 = GUICtrlCreateInput("text", 136, 120, 73, 21, BitOR($GUI_SS_DEFAULT_INPUT, $ES_CENTER)) $Label2 = GUICtrlCreateLabel("Result Search:", 8, 152, 74, 17) $Input2 = GUICtrlCreateInput("", 96, 152, 121, 21, $ES_READONLY) GUISetState(@SW_SHOW) While 1 $nMsg = GUIGetMsg() Switch $nMsg Case $GUI_EVENT_CLOSE Exit Case $Button1 StringReplace(GUICtrlRead($Edit1), GUICtrlRead($Input1), "") GUICtrlSetData($Input2, "Found " & @extended & " times") EndSwitch WEndAll clear?
