I'm not sure if I phrase this correctly, but is it possible to have autoit check if test.txt exist on desktop if I only type "Test" on input instead of "Test.txt"?

I tried:

If FileExists(GuiCtrlRead($input1 & ".txt")) Then   ;Check if exist;
NewFunction()                ;Else execute New Function;
Else
MsgBox(0, "File Exist", "Exported Job Does Not Exist!!!")
EndIf

When try this medthod; I get the msgbox that Job does not exist.

It's not working because you don't specify the folder to look in, just the file name.

If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.

This doesn't look right:

FileExists(GuiCtrlRead($input1 & ".txt"))

should probably be:

FileExists(GuiCtrlRead($input1) & ".txt")

asianqueen,

This line

If FileExists(GuiCtrlRead($input1 & ".txt")) Then   ;Check if exist;

should be

If FileExists(GuiCtrlRead($input1) & ".txt") Then   ;Check if exist;

paren in wrong place.

And of course you need the fully qualified path ( as BrewManNH said)

so it should be

If FileExists(GuiCtrlRead(@DesktopDir & $input1) & ".txt") Then   ;Check if exist;

No, somethiing like

if fileexists(@desktopdir & '\' & guictlread($input1) & '.txt')

I see... That works, but new error arise,

I'll try to figure this one out but anyone is welcome to give me an input

for $i = 1 to $aCSV[0]

Error: Subscript used with non-Array variable.

This is the full code for this error. What it does is open text file as csv:

_FileReadToArray(GuiCtrlRead($input1 & ".txt"), $aCSV)

$oExcel = _ExcelBookAttach($sFilePath1)                            ;Import the job to the current sheet;
$L = 1

for $i = 1 to $aCSV[0]
$aLine = stringsplit($aCSV[$i], ",")
_ExcelWriteArray($oExcel , $L , 1, $aLine , 0 , 1)
$L += 1
Next
TheButton()

Got it!!!

Fixed

For some reason, [autoit] doesn't work for me.

Thanks for all the help Everybody. Much appreciated.

_FileReadToArray((@DesktopDir & "\" & GuiCtrlRead($input1) & ".txt"), $aCSV)

Maybe you need to learn how to debug, but you are making the same error again in your _FileReadToArray() as you did before.

You also need to add error checking in your code to ensure _FileReadToArray() was successful to ensure the array is properly filled.

I think someone need to comeup with debug #include so we don't have to manually include that debug code. Cause I definitely don't know how to use the debug code or have not used before.

asianqueen,

No, it's down to the coder to read the documentation and check for errors. Once you get into the habit of implementing fail safes, that's when you become a better coder.
