Is there an advantage of using Select over If?

 

I haven't tested it but I would expect Select to have a small edge regarding speed. Then what about features such as ContinueCase?.Although I haven't used it, I presume this function exists for a reason. Emulating the behaviour of ContinueCase within a conditional If ... Else ... EndIf statement would be seemingly impossible. I also like having the choice, which I think can aid visual recognition - depending how you organize your script.

In conclusion, they are not quite the same thing.

OK, lets put this to rest now.

Select...EndSelect wasn't removed from the language.

If anyone was paying attention to the changelog they would have noticed that firstly this is in the UDFs section of the changelog and secondly there is a Trac ticket number: #2172. (Click on it!)

So please wait for the next Beta before commenting further on any empty array hiccups - then you can moan at me if it still does not work. ;)

Did you try using the volatile keyword that trancexx told you about? Seems fine here.

I noticed an Au2exe problem if compiling with #AutoIt3Wrapper_Change2CUI=Y. Au2exe stops showing a window of possible parameters. If I confirm this window it hangs... Can anyone confirm this?

Confirmed ..  will check what is happening

Both /console and /Gui parameters are now missing while still in the Available Help page shown.

AdmiralAlkex, I believe the Volatile keyword was never released publicly? If that's the case, remember to warn of it's potential disappearance and breaking of thingies.

It's in the help file under "volatile" and has an experimental warning attached.

Looking at the 3.3.9.6 helpfile, isn't it confusing that we have 3 different mouse over effects when you mouse over a link?

Related (pages) - hand/clicking cursor, changes color, underline text

Copy to clipboard - hand/clicking cursor, changes color
Open this Script - (nothing, no hint at all that it is a link, other than being non-black)

Hmm, it hadn't been typed into the changelog, but there were some significant changes to Aut2Exe/compiling as well. Scripts are stored as a normal resource rather than hacked onto the end of the exe.

Isn't it possible to also update the AutoIt Script Signature and Compression/Encryption algorithm ?
