tomashen Posted May 28, 2014 Posted May 28, 2014 ive been reading with my eyes -> O_O <- like that for the last 4 hours about autoit multithreading / processing... but now i am just thinking if CreateThread isnt so great,, what ways would you guys recommend? i really want to stay away from multiple .exe's as far as posible because AutoIt can be decompiled with ease now , and i wont post the link to this decompiler that some idiot made unless it is allowed to ? and so autoit community could get rid of the tool somehow maybe .. i dont know .. but anyway what would you recommend? and a simple quick of the top of your head example with the suggestion if you dont mind? or a link to example even... Sori Posted May 28, 2014 Posted May 28, 2014 Decompilers are definitely not allowed. What is your question? You lost me a bit. If you need help with your stuff, feel free to get me on my Skype. I often get bored and enjoy helping with projects.
tomashen Posted May 28, 2014 Author Posted May 28, 2014 Decompilers are definitely not allowed. What is your question? You lost me a bit. yes i know , but one exists and it can decompile any autoit exe.... my question is what method is/are best to use as a faik multithreading? something that doesnt make main script pause while function is called or w..e. Sori Posted May 28, 2014 Posted May 28, 2014 I haven't messed with any multithreading/coring myself, I just multi-exe. But also my programs are individual from each other. I'll leave this for the more experienced auto-iters (old people) So... best way to/help with multithreading If you need help with your stuff, feel free to get me on my Skype. JohnOne Posted May 28, 2014 Posted May 28, 2014 If you have a script where your GUI is becoming unresponsive for unacceptable amounts of time, chances are you're constructing it poorly. If you want a stable program to perform multiple tasks simultaneously with AutoIt3 then you simply have to use multiple process. That is the only answer at this time. tomashen Posted May 28, 2014 Author Posted May 28, 2014 (edited) fair enough would you be able to demonstrate a clean / perfect way for doing this? my guis are not irresponsive... they work fine but one task at a time is getting boring i want to try something more example / tips will do to get me to right directions THNX ! jchd Posted May 28, 2014 Posted May 28, 2014 What relationship do you have in mind between reverse-engineering or piracy on the one hand and multi-threading or multi-processing on the other? Can you give a real-world example of two things you would want to perform in parallel, that couldn't be implemented using one or more processes? jchd Posted May 28, 2014 Posted May 28, 2014 well i want multithread because protecting 1 exe is easier than 5. That's an unproven assumption. Then another "out of the blue" assumption is that you would need 5 distinct programs to achieve your goal. Finally and just as guinness noticed, AutoIt is certainly not the best platform to start such a project. This wonderful site allows debugging and testing regular expressions (many flavors available). guinness Posted May 28, 2014 Posted May 28, 2014 Good to see jchd agrees with me. Any good developer knows the strengths and weaknesses of any language. I just think it's funny that you don't even have a product to protect yet. So my advice create your "Skype" clone and then look at whatever it is you are trying to do.
