Use similar function from MsExcels "proper"

6 posts in this topic

Hi!

I have this hideous line of names and addresses, where everything is capitalized! And the most annoying part is that in excel it needs to stay that way. Out in Autoit it's up to me, and I want to cure this to make it look better! As said, excel has a function named proper. And if you know what that does, you know my problem.

Basically, the art of turning "JOHN SMITH" into "John Smith". Can anyone help? I think StringRegExpReplace could possibly help me, but I really have little to no idea at all how it works. My first guess were to first make it lowercase, then search using mentioned function for " .". But that is as far as I can understand it. And even this far I am ill faithful in my theory actually working!

_StringTitleCase might also work if there are apostrophes in the text. Note though, neither of these functions work well with Unicode text.

If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.
