BigDaddyO
I have a script that that connects to other computers using a shared network drive. If access to that shared drive hasn't been updated in a while, or is gone, I want to update the System Tray Icon for my script to have a grey x or red x or green check overlayed on it for a short time. I can do all this using the _WinAPI_AddIconOverlay example for an Icon in a GUI, but every time I try to apply the overlay to a tray icon I just get a generic system icon. Is there even a way to save the overlayed icon to a new .ico file so I can set it using the TraySetIcon? Any ideas? Thanks, Mike
BrewManNH
TraySetIcon will allow you to change the tray icon for your program. If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.Give a programmer the correct code and he can do his work for a day. Solution Yashied Posted December 31, 2014 Solution Share Posted December 31, 2014 (edited) _WinAPI_SaveHICONToFile() allow you to create .ico file but there is a better way. #Include <APIConstants.au3> #Include <WinAPIEx.au3> Opt('TrayMenuMode', 1) $hAutoIt = WinGetHandle(AutoItWinGetTitle()) $Exit = TrayCreateItem('Exit') TraySetClick(8) $hIcon1 = _WinAPI_ShellExtractIcon(@SystemDir & '\shell32.dll', 77, 16, 16) $hIcon2 = _WinAPI_ShellExtractIcon(@SystemDir & '\shell32.dll', 22, 16, 16) $hIcon = _WinAPI_AddIconOverlay($hIcon1, $hIcon2) _WinAPI_DestroyIcon($hIcon2) _WinAPI_DestroyIcon($hIcon2) $tNID = DllStructCreate($tagNOTIFYICONDATA) DllStructSetData($tNID, 'Size', DllStructGetSize($tNID)) DllStructSetData($tNID, 'hWnd', $hAutoIt) DllStructSetData($tNID, 'Flags', $NIF_ICON) DllStructSetData($tNID, 'ID', 1) DllStructSetData($tNID, 'hIcon', $hIcon) _WinAPI_ShellNotifyIcon($NIM_MODIFY, $tNID) While 1 Switch TrayGetMsg() Case $Exit Exit EndSwitch WEnd Edited December 31, 2014 by Yashied My UDFs: iKey | FTP Uploader | Battery Checker | Boot Manager | Font Viewer | UDF Keyword Manager | Run Dialog Replacement | USBProtect | 3D Axis | Calculator | Sleep | iSwitcher | TM | NetHelper | File Types Manager | Control Viewer | SynFolders | DLL Helper Animated Tray Icons UDF Library | Hotkeys UDF Library | Hotkeys Input Control UDF Library | Caret Shape UDF Library | Context Help UDF Library | Most Recently Used List UDF Library | Icons UDF Library | FTP UDF Library | Script Communications UDF Library | Color Chooser UDF Library | Color Picker Control UDF Library | IPHelper (Vista/7) UDF Library | WinAPI Extended UDF Library | WinAPIVhd UDF Library | Icon Chooser UDF Library | Copy UDF Library | Restart UDF Library | Event Log UDF Library | NotifyBox UDF Library | Pop-up Windows UDF Library | TVExplorer UDF Library | GuiHotKey UDF Library | GuiSysLink UDF Library | Package UDF Library | Skin UDF Library | AITray UDF Library | RDC UDF Library Appropriate path | Button text color | Gaussian random numbers | Header's styles (Vista/7) | ICON resource enumeration | Menu & INI | Tabbed string size | Tab's skin | Pop-up circular menu | Progress Bar without animation (Vista/7) | Registry export | Registry path jumping | Unique hardware ID | Windows alignment More...
