I thought about extracting the comments from Excel and store it somewhere else (flat file, database ... depends on the amount of data to store).
There could be a button in the script to grab the comments from the Excel and update the file/database.

They can change daily. I know what you are thinking and i will probably try something like that later to speed it up  I was just hoping to find something as easy as Rangeread for comments

I just created an Excel workbook with 2250 comments and it took about 1.5 seconds to read them all.
How many cells and comments do you have in your workbook?
