Is there a way to find out and get the country of the user running my script?

IP Geolocation?

I don't think it works in a reliable way.

Mine for example seems to be located in France but I am in Brussels/Belgium.

(checked on http://www.ip2location.com and http://software77.net/cgi-bin/ip-country/geo-ip.pl)

I think it depends where the IP address was registered.

If you really want to go this way anyway. please check for ip-to-country.csv on the net. You can download a csv file which contains country data.

I believe the database is updated once in a month. You will have to convert the Ip address to a decimal number. I don't know exactly how to do that.

62.240.32.0 to 62.240.63.255 and decimal: from 1055924224 to 1055932415
