benjybee1,

1. Why post this in the "Examples" section? Surely it would be better placed in the "General Help" part of the forum. Perhaps think before posting next time? :)

2. You need to sharpen up your searching skills. CommMg.au3 is part of martin's Serial/Com port UDF - the link to martin's download page is here.

Thank you very much for your help - I'm trying to rebuild this simple and clean project found here Controlling the leds on an Arduino using Autoit

That's a lovely story, but I cannot see your example script.

Thank you very much for your help - I'm trying to rebuild this simple and clean project found here Controlling the leds on an Arduino using Autoit

If you have managed to program and set up the Arduino then the serial part from AutoIt can be done to start with using the example of a simple terminal emulator. You need to send a string and @CR. The string is 1 or 2 plus 0 or 1 so you send 11 to turn led 1 on, 10 to turn led 1off , 21 and 20 to turn led 2 on or off.

Const $ON = 1, $OFF = 0
Const $LedYellow = 1, $LedRed = 2

$ledNum = $LedYellow
$state = $ON

_CommSendString( $ledNum & $State & @CR)

You need to set up the port first though.

If you have questions about using my serial port UDF and dll then post them in the thread for the udf in example scripts.

Serial port communications UDF Includes functions for binary transmission and reception.printing UDF Useful for graphs, forms, labels, reports etc.Add User Call Tips to SciTE for functions in UDFs not included with AutoIt and for your own scripts.Functions with parameters in OnEvent mode and for Hot Keys One function replaces GuiSetOnEvent, GuiCtrlSetOnEvent and HotKeySet.UDF IsConnected2 for notification of status of connected state of many urls or IPs, without slowing the script.
