kor Posted September 28, 2012 Share Posted September 28, 2012 I have laptops that I am imaging. I want to pull drivers and large files from a network share while the machines are imaging. At the stage of the imaging process that I am pulling these large files both a wired and wireless connection are available. I'm wondering if there is a way to make sure that any file copy operations or any network activity that I route through AutoIt is using a wired ethernet connection and not wireless. Is there a way to select which adapter a file copy operation uses to make sure it is wired vs wireless? Disabling the wireless connection while the file copy operations happen is an option but I'd REALLY like to not do it that way. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

JohnOne Posted September 28, 2012 Share Posted September 28, 2012 I use a little utility called ForceBindIP.Read about it carefully, it does not work on all applications.It works for me on Chrome, Firefox and µTorrent, I use it so my torrents use one connectionwhile my browsing uses another.It's a trivial matter to wrap an autoit script around it. Lanviirlo Posted October 2, 2012 Share Posted October 2, 2012 Kor, I am new to this site, as of a few minutes ago, as well as AutoIT, but have you ever thought of using the Route Command to force it through the Wired Network Adapter? Just the first thought that popped into my mind as I read your post. I use it a lot to force certain programs to go out specific adapters when there are multiple gateways involved. My first task with AutoIT is to design an application for use by VoIP technicians that incorporates all of the basic networking tools into one GUI.
