Excel_SheetList has vertical bars |

Hi All,

Has anyone come across this before?
Code below:

$SheetList = _Excel_SheetList($oWorkbook)
_FileWriteFromArray("C:\" & $SheetListOutput, $SheetList, 1)

Result:

ResultABC|
ResultDEF|
ResultGHI|
ResultJKL|
ResultMNO|

It created these "|" vertical bars?

Code was wrong, corrected the code

That’s because _Excel_SheetList returns a 2D-Array. _FileWriteFromArray uses the | as separator.

@water, thank you for responding... so i should use 

StringSplit($string, "|", 1)

To get rid of it... how else can it be done.. array wise?

For give my array simple questions... as from many posts I have been trying to learn this array stuff...

Do it yourself. Loop through this array and just write the first element of each lone to the file.

To be more specific: Replace _FilewriteFromArray with your own function to create the file.

Here's an easier method:

_FileWriteFromArray("C:\" & $SheetListFile, $SheetList, 1, Default, "")

Basically, this takes the delimiter away completely....

But just the delimiter. The help file states that each line consists of two cells. The second cell is an object identifier.
This gets written to the file as well (never tried it)? In this case your file might contain some unexpected data

Nope, it does not. It provides a proper line break (@CRLF) therefore making a "clean" split and providing only one column

That's great. But I'm sure this solution only works with objects, not with other data types like strings, integers etc.
