TheDcoder Posted April 5, 2016 Posted April 5, 2016 Here is some code: ConsoleWrite("Test" == "Test" & Null) ; This should be False by theory, but it is True in AutoIt Sleep(1000) ; Sometime for you to read the result Is this a bug or expected behaviour? water Posted April 5, 2016 Posted April 5, 2016 According to the help file keyword Null always evaluates to Null or an empty string: "Null evaluates only to Null, still in mathematical operations this keyword has value of 0, and as string it has no value (empty string)." So - as always - the help file is your friend TheDcoder 1 My UDFs and Tutorials: Spoiler UDFs: Active Directory (NEW 2024-07-28 - Version 1.6.3.0) - Download - General Help & Support - Example Scripts - Wiki ExcelChart (2017-07-21 - Version 0.4.0.1) - Download - General Help & Support - Example Scripts OutlookEX (2021-11-16 - Version 1.7.0.0) - Download - General Help & Support - Example Scripts - Wiki OutlookEX_GUI (2021-04-13 - Version 1.4.0.0) - Download Outlook Tools (2019-07-22 - Version 0.6.0.0) - Download - General Help & Support - Wiki PowerPoint (2021-08-31 - Version 1.5.0.0) - Download - General Help & Support - Example Scripts - Wiki Task Scheduler (2022-07-28 - Version 1.6.0.1) - Download - General Help & Support - Wiki Standard UDFs: Excel - Example Scripts - Wiki Word - Wiki Tutorials: ADO - Wiki WebDriver - Wiki

jchd Posted April 5, 2016 Posted April 5, 2016 (edited) Null has a broad semantic. It essentially means "I don't know" value (or rather "non value"). That's pretty formal in SQL but in AutoIt Null can get converted to some other type as Water quoted. I believe you're confusing the Null value (keyword) with the ANSI control character NUL which is 0x00 exactly with string datatype. So you seem to want something like $sMyString &= Chr(0) Edited April 6, 2016 by Jos Changed Asc to Chr This wonderful site allows debugging and testing regular expressions (many flavors available).
