WM_COMMAND and ListView/TreeView Items

Recommended Posts

Trying to use WM_COMMAND and WM_CONTEXTMENU in my GUI, and I'm having issue with the fact that WM_COMMAND doesn't fire when the mouse is over a listview or treeview.

You can try to simulate my issue with the example code below. The WM_COMMAND will fire whenever the menu is created over the GUI background, but not when the menu is over the listview.

#include <GuiMenu.au3>
#include <GUIConstantsEx.au3>
#include <WinAPI.au3>
#include <WindowsConstants.au3>

Global Enum $idOpen = 1000, $idSave, $idInfo

_Main()

Func _Main()
    ; Create GUI
    GUICreate("Menu", 400, 300)
    $hlistview = GUICtrlCreateListView("", 10, 10, 150, 280)
    GUISetState()

    ; Register message handlers
    GUIRegisterMsg($WM_COMMAND, "WM_COMMAND")
    GUIRegisterMsg($WM_CONTEXTMENU, "WM_CONTEXTMENU")

    ; Loop until user exits
    Do
    Until GUIGetMsg() = $GUI_EVENT_CLOSE
EndFunc   ;==>_Main

; Handle WM_COMMAND messages
Func WM_COMMAND($hWnd, $iMsg, $iwParam, $ilParam)
    #forceref $hWnd, $iMsg, $ilParam
    Switch $iwParam
        Case $idOpen
            _WinAPI_ShowMsg("Open")
        Case $idSave
            _WinAPI_ShowMsg("Save")
        Case $idInfo
            _WinAPI_ShowMsg("Info")
    EndSwitch
EndFunc   ;==>WM_COMMAND

; Handle WM_CONTEXTMENU messages
Func WM_CONTEXTMENU($hWnd, $iMsg, $iwParam, $ilParam)
    #forceref $hWnd, $iMsg, $ilParam
    Local $hMenu

    $hMenu = _GUICtrlMenu_CreatePopup()
    _GUICtrlMenu_InsertMenuItem($hMenu, 0, "Open", $idOpen)
    _GUICtrlMenu_InsertMenuItem($hMenu, 1, "Save", $idSave)
    _GUICtrlMenu_InsertMenuItem($hMenu, 3, "", 0)
    _GUICtrlMenu_InsertMenuItem($hMenu, 3, "Info", $idInfo)
    _GUICtrlMenu_TrackPopupMenu($hMenu, $iwParam)
    _GUICtrlMenu_DestroyMenu($hMenu)
    Return True
EndFunc   ;==>WM_CONTEXTMENU

Can anyone help me out with this?

Thanks!

Try it using WM_NOTIFY for the listview.

If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.

I currently use WM_NOTIFY to set global elements to tell the WM_CONTEXTMENU which menu to build.

I wish I could attach my actual code, but it contains elements that are security sensitive (login information) and simply eliminating that information will yield a brick of code.

Here is my WM_NOTIFY (global variables set are $menu, $menuitem, and $menuitem_key):

Func WM_NOTIFY($hWnd, $iMsg, $iwParam, $ilParam)
    #forceref $hWnd, $iMsg, $iwParam
    Local $hWndFrom, $iIDFrom, $iCode, $tNMHDR, $hWndTreeview, $hWndListView
    $hWndTreeview = $hTreeView
    If Not IsHWnd($hTreeView) Then $hWndTreeview = GUICtrlGetHandle($hTreeView)
    $hWndListView = $hListView
    If Not IsHWnd($hListView) Then $hWndListView = GUICtrlGetHandle($hListView)

    $tNMHDR = DllStructCreate($tagNMHDR, $ilParam)
    $hWndFrom = HWnd(DllStructGetData($tNMHDR, "hWndFrom"))
    $iIDFrom = DllStructGetData($tNMHDR, "IDFrom")
    $iCode = DllStructGetData($tNMHDR, "Code")
    Switch $hWndFrom
        Case $hWndListView
            $menu = "listview"
            Switch $iCode
                Case $LVN_COLUMNCLICK
                    Local $tInfo = DllStructCreate($tagNMLISTVIEW, $ilParam)
                    Local $ColumnIndex = DllStructGetData($tInfo, "SubItem")
                    _ListView_Sort($ColumnIndex)
                    Return 0
                Case $NM_CLICK ; The user has clicked the right mouse button within the control
                    Local $tInfo = DllStructCreate($tagNMITEMACTIVATE, $ilParam)
                    Local $text = _GUICtrlListView_GetItemText($hWndListView, DllStructGetData($tInfo, "Index"))
                    Local $hItem = _GUICtrlListView_GetItem($hWndListView, DllStructGetData($tInfo, "Index"))
                    $menu = "file"
                    $menuitem = $text

                    Return 0
                EndSwitch

                            "-->Code:" & @TAB & $iCode)
                    Local $tInfo = DllStructCreate($tagNMITEMACTIVATE, $ilParam)

;~                Return 1 ; nonzero to not allow the default processing
                    Return 0 ; zero to allow the default processing
                Case $NM_RDBLCLK ; The user has clicked the right mouse button within the control
                    _DebugPrint("$NM_RDBLCLK" & @LF & "--> hWndFrom:" & @TAB & $hWndFrom & @LF & _
                            "-->IDFrom:" & @TAB & $iIDFrom & @LF & _

;~                Return 1 ; nonzero to not allow the default processing
                    Return 0 ; zero to allow the default processing
                Case $TVN_SELCHANGEDW

                    $treeview_change = True
                    Return 0
            EndSwitch
    EndSwitch
    Return $GUI_RUNDEFMSG
EndFunc   ;==>WM_NOTIFY

So I suppose my question then is, how do I get WM_NOTIFY to realize that I clicked on the corresponding menu item?

Here is my WM_CONTEXTMENU in case it is needed for reference:

Func WM_CONTEXTMENU($hWnd, $iMsg, $iwParam, $ilParam)
    #forceref $hWnd, $iMsg, $ilParam
    Local $hMenu

    If $menu == "" or $menu == "none" Then Return True

    $hMenu = _GUICtrlMenu_CreatePopup(32)
    If $hMenu = 0 Then MsgBox(0, "Menu", "Error")

    Select
        Case $menu == "file"
            If $menuitem == "" Then
                _GUICtrlMenu_DestroyMenu($hMenu)
                Return True
            EndIf
            _GUICtrlMenu_InsertMenuItem($hMenu, 0, 'Preview "' & $menuitem & '"', $idPreview)
            _GUICtrlMenu_InsertMenuItem($hMenu, 1, 'Download "' & $menuitem & '"', $idDownload)
            _GUICtrlMenu_InsertMenuItem($hMenu, 2, "Edit Description", $idEditDescription)
            _GUICtrlMenu_InsertMenuItem($hMenu, 3, "Edit Tags", $idEditTags)
            _GUICtrlMenu_InsertMenuItem($hMenu, 4, "", 0)

            _GUICtrlMenu_InsertMenuItem($hMenu, 6, "Delete key " & $menuitem_key, $idDelete)
        Case $menu == "folder"

            _GUICtrlMenu_InsertMenuItem($hMenu, 1, "Delete", $idDelete)
            _GUICtrlMenu_InsertMenuItem($hMenu, 3, "", 0)

            _GUICtrlMenu_InsertMenuItem($hMenu, 4, "Tile", $idViewTile)

    Return True
EndFunc   ;==>WM_CONTEXTMENU

      Hello,
      i stuck again,
      Im using this function to create a treeview from root dir.

      ;https://autoit.de/index.php?thread/86082-treeview-root-verbergen/&postID=691139#post691139 #include <File.au3> #include <WindowsConstants.au3> Global $sPath = @ScriptDir Global $hGui = GUICreate('TreeView-Example', 400, 600) Global $idTreeView = GUICtrlCreateTreeView(10, 10, 380, 580, Default, $WS_EX_CLIENTEDGE) GUISetState() _CreatePath($sPath, $idTreeView) Do Until GUIGetMsg() = -3 Func _CreatePath($sPath, $idParent) Local $aFolder, $aFiles, $idItem If StringRight($sPath, 1) <> '\' Then $sPath &= '\' $aFolder = _FileListToArray($sPath, '*', $FLTA_FOLDERS) If Not @error Then For $i = 1 To $aFolder[0] $idItem = GUICtrlCreateTreeViewItem($aFolder[$i], $idParent) _CreatePath($sPath & $aFolder[$i], $idItem) Next EndIf $aFiles = _FileListToArray($sPath, '*', $FLTA_FILES) If @error Then Return For $i = 1 To $aFiles[0] $idItem = GUICtrlCreateTreeViewItem($aFiles[$i], $idParent) Next EndFunc Folder Structure:

      Folder1
      Folder2
      Folder3
      If a file exists in multiple folders, i like to color it red, if not green.

      I know how to do this for files, but nut for the folders.

      Because if there is only 1 file in Folder2 that is also in Folder1 that it should only color this single file red, inlcuding its whole tree.

      The Folder1 and Folder2 should be red in this case, too. Other files and trees should stay green.

      Edit:
      Basically i like to color a file and its belonging tree red if the file exists more than 1 time.

      Hello,

      im searching like 6 hours and i didnt found the right solution.

      Im trying to build a treeview from a directory and its subfolders etc.

      This function give me right treeview, but i cant color each item seperated.

      #include <GuiTreeView.au3> $hGui = GUICreate("Demo1", 600, 400) $hTreeView = _GUICtrlTreeView_Create($hGui, 10, 10, 580, 380) GUISetState() _GUICtrlTreeView_BeginUpdate($hTreeView) ListFiles_ToTreeView(@ScriptDir, 0) _GUICtrlTreeView_EndUpdate($hTreeView) Do Until GUIGetMsg() = -3 Func ListFiles_ToTreeView($sSourceFolder, $hItem) Local $sFile ; Force a trailing \ If StringRight($sSourceFolder, 1) <> "\" Then $sSourceFolder &= "\" ; Start the search Local $hSearch = FileFindFirstFile($sSourceFolder & "*.*") ; If no files found then return If $hSearch = -1 Then Return ; This is where we break the recursive loop <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< ; Now run through the contents of the folder While 1 ; Get next match $sFile = FileFindNextFile($hSearch) ; If no more files then close search handle and return If @error Then ExitLoop ; This is where we break the recursive loop <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< ; Check if a folder If @extended Then ; If so then call the function recursively ListFiles_ToTreeView($sSourceFolder & $sFile, _GUICtrlTreeView_AddChild($hTreeView, $hItem, $sFile)) Else ; If a file than write path and name _GUICtrlTreeView_AddChild($hTreeView, $hItem, $sFile) EndIf WEnd ; Close search handle FileClose($hSearch) EndFunc ;==>ListFiles_ToTreeView
      So i am searching for the exact same function just with
      GUICtrlCreateTreeViewItem
      instead of
      _GUICtrlTreeView_AddChild

      Ps: i have a folder structure where i like to color each item green if a file only exist once and red if it exist more than once.

      Could someone help?

      Hey guys,

      I ran into a problem when I wanted to delete items of a listview using the delete key. My approach is to register my own WndProc for the listview and then filter the $WM_GETDLGCODE msg and then call the original WndProc.
      That works like a charm. The problem is that when the listview gets redrawn it somehow ends up in an infinite loop. The listview is suddenly emtpy and I can't interact with any controls of the GUI at all. Here's the code:

      #include <GUIConstantsEx.au3> #include <GUIListView.au3> #include <WinAPI.au3> $h_GUI = GUICreate("Test", 200, 200, 350, 350) $h_LV = GUICtrlCreateListView("Col 1|Col 2|Col 3", 0, 0, 200, 200) _GUICtrlListView_AddItem($h_LV, "") _GUICtrlListView_AddSubItem($h_LV, 0, "bla0", 0) _GUICtrlListView_AddSubItem($h_LV, 0, "bla0", 1) _GUICtrlListView_AddSubItem($h_LV, 0, "bla0", 2) _GUICtrlListView_AddItem($h_LV, "") _GUICtrlListView_AddSubItem($h_LV, 1, "bla1", 0) _GUICtrlListView_AddSubItem($h_LV, 1, "bla1", 1) _GUICtrlListView_AddSubItem($h_LV, 1, "bla1", 2) _GUICtrlListView_AddItem($h_LV, "") _GUICtrlListView_AddSubItem($h_LV, 2, "bla2", 0) _GUICtrlListView_AddSubItem($h_LV, 2, "bla2", 1) _GUICtrlListView_AddSubItem($h_LV, 2, "bla2", 2) _GUICtrlListView_AddItem($h_LV, "") _GUICtrlListView_AddSubItem($h_LV, 3, "bla3", 0) _GUICtrlListView_AddSubItem($h_LV, 3, "bla3", 1) _GUICtrlListView_AddSubItem($h_LV, 3, "bla3", 2) $h_LV_NewWndProc = DllCallbackRegister("WndProc_LV", "int", "hwnd;uint;wparam;lparam") $g_LV_OldWndProc = _WinAPI_SetWindowLong(GUICtrlGetHandle($h_LV), $GWL_WNDPROC, DllCallbackGetPtr($h_LV_NewWndProc)) GUISetState(@SW_SHOW) Func WndProc_LV($hWnd, $uMsg, $wParam, $lParam) Return _WinAPI_CallWindowProc($g_LV_OldWndProc, $hWnd, $uMsg, $wParam, $lParam) EndFunc ;==>WndProc_GUI Do Until GUIGetMsg() = $GUI_EVENT_CLOSE DllCallbackFree($h_LV_NewWndProc) As you can see I'm doing nothing in the WndProc of the listview. I'm simply calling the original WndProc. This still "freezes" when I mess with the width of the columns or in the original project when I add more items that they don't fit in the listview and I have to scroll. If I don't do that it's working fine.

      (It's unfortunate that the Example does not heed this advice. OK, it doesn't need to because there are no other controls, but still --- it would help neophytes if it did. Also to me _GUICtrlListView_AddItem is not native because it is a UDF. Confused?)
      My script then does a sort using SQLite, and updates the ListView:
      Local $hQuery Local $colNames = ['fnam','ext','nsize','dateTime','path','SizeInt'] Local $s = "Select * FROM tbl ORDER BY "&$colNames[$ncol]&';' _SQLite_Query(-1,$s, $hQuery) If @error Then MsgBox(0,@ScriptLineNumber,_SQLite_ErrMsg()) EndIf Local $aRow[$kSizeInt+1] Local $iItem=-1 While _SQLite_FetchData($hQuery, $aRow, False, False) = $SQLITE_OK ; Read Out the next Row If @error Then MsgBox(0,@ScriptLineNumber,_SQLite_ErrMsg()) EndIf $iItem += 1 For $i = $kFnam To $kSizeInt _GUICtrlListView_SetItem($hListview,$aRow[$i],$iItem,$i,Default) Next WEnd This works, but I had earlier coded
      _GUICtrlListView_SetItem($hListview,$aRow[$i],$iItem,$i,Default,$iItem+1000) because the same advice is in the Help for this function.
      So my care in specifying $param back-fired! What am I not understanding?
      The only difference in what works is that the $param parameter is defaulted.

      Good evening everyone
      I am building a management for the company I work with, and I just imported a real amount of rows ( about 29000 ), in my SQLite DB.
      The thing I am not understanding, is the time that the script takes to build this amount of rows in the ListView.
      I didn't measure it, but I think it took 2 minutes or so to create each ListView item...
      It is normal that it takes so much time?
      What can I do to improve the creation of the items?

      Here's the code I am using to query and to create ListView items...
      ; Articles ListView: Global $lvwArticles = GUICtrlCreateListView("ID|Fornitore|Codice|Descrizione|EU|Prezzo|Sconto Applicato|Note", 14, 87, 1507, 660, BitOR($GUI_SS_DEFAULT_LISTVIEW,$LVS_SORTASCENDING,$LVS_SORTDESCENDING), BitOR($WS_EX_CLIENTEDGE,$LVS_EX_GRIDLINES,$LVS_EX_FULLROWSELECT)) ; Query $strQuery = "SELECT * FROM ARTICOLI;" ; Query Execution _SQLite_GetTable2d($objDatabase, $strQuery, $arrResult, $intRows, $intColumns) If @error Then ; Error Handling Else ; Cleaning the ListView _GUICtrlListView_DeleteAllItems($lvwArticles) If @error Then ; Error Handling Else ; No records in the Table If UBound($arrResult) < 2 Then ; Error Handling Else _GUICtrlListView_BeginUpdate($lvwArticles) For $intCounter = 1 To UBound($arrResult) - 1 $strListViewItem = $arrResult[$intCounter][0] & "|" & _ $arrResult[$intCounter][1] & "|" & _ $arrResult[$intCounter][2] & "|" & _ $arrResult[$intCounter][3] & "|" & _ $arrResult[$intCounter][4] & "|" & _ $arrResult[$intCounter][5] & "|" & _ $arrResult[$intCounter][6] & "|" & _ $arrResult[$intCounter][7] $objListViewItem = GUICtrlCreateListViewItem($strListViewItem, $lvwArticles) Next _GUICtrlListView_EndUpdate($lvwArticles) EndIf EndIf EndIf Thanks in advance

      Best Regards.
